Start Your Baby Right With Breast Feeding

All new parents have one thing in common. They want the best possible life for their baby. Breast feeding has always been a much discussed topic for new parents. There is currently a lot of national attention on the natural positive impact that breast feeding provides for new babies.

Breast Feeding Is Natural

Breast feeeding is the best possible source of nutrition for a baby. If you breast feed your baby for at least six months they will gain a protection from a multitude of harmful diseases that can only provided by a mother's milk. In nature breast feeding is natural. All species of mammals except humans nurse their babies without exception. Only humans have found alternatives that they consider acceptable.

Breast Feeding Nutrients And Antibodies

Why is mother's milk the perfect baby food? Human breast milk contains the proper balance of water, amino acids and fatty acids that a baby needs. A womans body will add more water to milk during hot weather to protect a baby against dehydration. When a mother first produces milk it is full of colostrum which is full of antibodies that help the baby develop strong immunities. More than 80 percent of breast milk cells are cells that work to kill viruses, bacteria and fungi. This is what makes breast feeding babies much healthier for the most part than formula fed counterparts. Breast milk can protect against diseases such as influenza, measles, ear infections, pneumonia, and botulism. A mother's body even responds to bacteria in her baby's saliva, thus protecting the baby from the germs they are actually fighting.

Proper Development Through Breast Feeding

When a baby suckles from a breast it develops correct alignment of their jawbones and muscles. A breast exercises more muscles than drinking from a bottle. Breast feeding babies also are not exposed to germs that develop in formula bottles. A breast is always sterile, ready and at the perfect temperature for a baby. There is no more perfect form of feeding for a baby. Breast feeding is not always easy at first but the beenfits are worth it to your baby. As society has become more acceptable of breastfeeding, more and more mothers are doing it. Everyone wants to give their babies the best possible start in life. The early health benefits from breast feeding babies go far into their adult lifes.
